Benalto Sound is a recording studio and creative habitat designed for artists seeking focus, depth, and sustained creative momentum. Located near Sylvan Lake and within reach of the Canadian Rockies, it offers the quiet of rural Alberta alongside the practical advantages of nearby infrastructure.
Surrounded by forest and farmland, the slower rhythm of the area supports deep work and creative flow. Removed from the pace of the city yet fully equipped for professional production, artists are able to settle in, develop ideas, and work with intention.
This setting supports all IAH programs, from short-term residencies to long-form memberships.

Recording Club
IAH Recording Club is an annual membership for individual artists, writers, and producers, offering guaranteed time in a professional creative facility and access to a grounded, collaborative community.
Membership includes an annual Self-Led Artist Habitat with 24-hour studio access and accommodations, where members may bring their team or collaborators at no additional cost.

Wayfinder Writing Intensives
Monthly, small-group, genre-led writing intensives designed to support collaboration, exchange, and creative momentum.
Each weekend is limited to three resident artists and includes focused studio sessions, shared meals, and a Sunday A&R listening session. Together, participants reflect on the work created, identify key moments, and outline potential next steps.
