FAQ

Recording Club is for artists who are ready to treat their work as a priority.

If you are waiting for perfect timing, total certainty, or ideal conditions, this may feel uncomfortable. That does not mean it is wrong. Often, structure and commitment are what make the work possible in the first place.

You do not need to feel fully ready. You need to be willing to show up.

Recording Club is an annual membership that includes one Self-Led Artist Habitat stay each year, along with ongoing access to the broader IAH community and programming.

After joining, you will receive a scheduling link to propose preferred date windows. Stays are confirmed based on availability. You do not need to choose exact dates at the time of joining.

That is completely valid.

Recording Club is not prescriptive about outcomes. Some artists arrive with a fully mapped record. Others arrive knowing only that they need space, focus, and movement.

Both are legitimate starting points.

Flexible payment options are available through Shop Pay, allowing you to spread the cost over time.

Financial considerations matter. For many independent artists, the larger cost is continued delay. Recording Club is designed to make commitment manageable without requiring a single large upfront payment.

Recording Club is structured around an annual cycle, and members are encouraged to schedule their stay well in advance to secure preferred dates.

If unexpected circumstances arise, we work directly with members to explore reasonable scheduling adjustments where possible. Clear communication early on is key.

The structure exists to create momentum, but it is not rigid for the sake of rigidity.

Recording Club is not about access to equipment. It is about context.

Changing where you work often changes how you work. Your focus, your decisions, your willingness to experiment, and the pace at which ideas move.

Even well-equipped home studios can reinforce familiar patterns. Immersion in a different environment can shift momentum in ways fragmented sessions rarely do.

You do not need to arrive with a team.

Yes. Engineer support can be added at published rates and scheduled based on availability.

IAH subsidizes a limited number of Access tier memberships each year to help developing artists step into a professional creative environment.

This is part of our commitment to strengthening the broader creative ecosystem.

Recording Club maintains a limited number of memberships each year to ensure the experience remains focused, personal, and logistically sustainable within the Benalto Sound facility.

This is not a high-volume program.

Patron members may choose to sponsor a five-night Artist Habitat residency for a developing artist.

IAH coordinates selection, scheduling, and support to ensure the residency results in meaningful creative progress.
