Engineer

Bring extra support into your Self-Led Artist Habitat — when you want the room to move faster.

Your Recording Club membership includes a built-in Studio Orientation session with an experienced audio engineer. From there, you can add optional engineer-supported tracking blocks (in 3.5-hour sessions) to match the pace of your project — from a single focused block to a full, extended day.

Add-on sessions are coordinated in advance with IAH as part of planning your annual Artist Habitat stay — so your time on-site stays clear, intentional, and creatively productive.

What’s included — the 3.5-hour Orientation Session

Every Recording Club Habitat begins with a 3.5-hour Studio Orientation led by an experienced engineer. This session is built to help you walk into the studio with confidence — and leave with momentum.

  • Get fully oriented to the space, gear, signal flow, and session workflow
  • Set up your project for the week (templates, routing, session organization)
  • Confirm your creative goals and how you want to use your studio time
  • Make sure you’re ready for smooth self-led recording across your stay

From there, you can stay self-led — or add engineer-supported sessions as needed.

Engineer Support — session format and day pacing

All engineer add-ons are booked in 3.5-hour studio sessions. You can book 1 to 3 sessions per day depending on how intensive you want your recording days to be.

1 Session — Half Day

$200 — 1 × 3.5-hour session

Ideal for a focused tracking block — vocals, guitars, a single “get it done” moment.

2 Sessions — Full Day

$350 — 2 × 3.5-hour sessions

Best for full-band tracking, bigger vocal production days, or multiple songs in motion.

3 Sessions — Extended Day

$500 — 3 × 3.5-hour sessions

For teams with a deadline mindset — track, refine, and keep rolling into a late block.

Day 1 note: Your Orientation counts as the first 3.5-hour session of your Habitat. If you want to keep rolling on Day 1, you can add a second session (and even a third).

What an engineer add-on helps unlock

Engineer support is for creators who want to move faster, stay focused, and capture better takes — without getting pulled into setup details and troubleshooting.

  • Session setup, routing, and maintaining flow in the room
  • Mic selection and placement guidance
  • Tracking support — gain staging, levels, and clean capture
  • Coaching on workflow — so you spend more time creating, less time problem-solving
  • Basic organization and file handoff so the work stays usable after your stay

Think of it as adding a calm technical anchor — so the creative energy stays high and the sessions stay productive.

How to book engineer sessions

Engineer add-ons are coordinated in advance with IAH while you’re planning your Habitat stay.

  1. Join Recording Club and schedule your Self-Led Artist Habitat dates.
  2. During onboarding, tell us your project goals and preferred recording days in which an IAH engineer is required.
  3. Select 1, 2, or 3 sessions per day.
  4. IAH confirms the final plan so your stay aligns with your workflow and priorities.

Availability is limited — booking early is recommended, especially for full-day and extended-day requests.
